CASE STUDY

A success story

Praxis Retail

Praxis approached Select Group due to their specific requirements for a fully self-powered security solution for their vacant property that was previously trading under Debenhams Glasgow. Due to the scale of the building and the current limitations, they required a bespoke and robust solution.

The Problem

The Debenhams building had been empty since Covid in 2021, had limited access, and they wanted to augment their existing fire alarm system. In addition, only securing the premises with existing security guards was proving both ineffective and costly.

The Solution

We carried out several free surveys of the premises and worked with the existing security team in order to offer a comprehensive solution to their issues.

We managed to secure all 7 floors of the premises with 20 Sentinel Pods and in order to fully augment their existing fire system, we deployed 60 fully wireless and self-powered fire, smoke, and CO₂ detectors around the whole premises.

The Outcome

Due to these measures, the site has remained fully secure and safe from intrusion and risks of fire. It has saved the client tens of thousands in hours deployed with Security Guards while offering both peace of mind and 24/7 monitoring for security and fire from our ARC receiving centre in Glasgow. The client was so happy with the solution that it was used in several pop-up shops in the St Enoch Centre during the Commonwealth Games.
By combining intelligent security and fire detection technology, we were able to deliver complete 24/7 protection across a complex seven-storey site, while significantly reducing the client’s reliance on costly manned guarding.
