Select Group has worked with CHAP Group for several years.
Chap approached us are they are undertaking one of their most sensitive builds. The scheme was sensitively designed and constructed to ensure the 2 storey houses are almost concealed behind the precinct Cathedral wall of St. Andrews Cathedral.
With very limited access available and a very tight site to manoeuvre and work on we where tasked to ensure the inside site and outside compound where protected.

The Problem
Due to the site being within the walls of St Andrews Cathedral, strict planning ensured that the wall could no be encroached on by any technology. We could also not use our usual CCTV Towers due to every inch of the site already been planned for during the build
The Solution
Following a thorough site survey and discussion with CHAP Head office and their senior Quantity Surveyors we realised that a new design and approach would need to be taken to this very sensitive site. We deployed our new Sentinel Pod within 12 hours notice to ensure the internal site was covered. And deployed a new custom Siteview with longer range 4k cameras positioned at the very top of their compound to cover the external compound and the whole internal site. This was achieved by utilising new to market cameras with detection ranges of 70m to allow them to perform while positioned above 4m.
The Outcome
As a result of the measures put in place, and the efforts of our team, we secured the full site and met all the planning requirements for the preservation of the Cathedral wall.
