The Solution
Following a thorough site survey and discussion with the 2 site managers, Mark Harris and David Cooper, we decided to deploy a comprehensive array of measures to ensure that all their requirements were fully met. Firstly, we installed a Select Site system in the main compound, as this multi-faceted solution facilitated the addition of PPE and Thermal cameras, which provided real-time live alerts to management if the correct PPE was not worn, or if personnel approached, or smoked, in the vicinity of the site fuel bowsers. The Select Site system also catered for the addition of several static cameras, covering the cabins, stores and car parks, with a monitor and NVR placed in the site manager’s office to provide a live feed and playback review of all the attached devices. For the more remote areas of the site, we agreed that Eco Solar CCTV Towers were the best option as power would be unavailable for several months. These towers allowed for virtual tripwires to be set, creating no-go areas, while their AI capability adapted to the environment and minimised false alarms. The solution for delivery issues was to use the best available ANPR technology in the market, with a further camera added to the Select View system and placed at the site entrance to record registrations and exact arrival and departure times of all vehicles, thus providing evidence-based data to counter any potential dispute.
